SimulCharge Takes on MWC Barcelona

This February, LAVA took part in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona! We tried escaping the Canadian winter but it seemed like we had brought the winter with us – it snowed in Spain. In true Canadian fashion, we’d like to say sorry.

Since day one of the trade show, we hit the ground running. MWC Barcelona is one of the largest and most influential trade shows in the mobile industry. This year, more than 88,500 people attended the event. We had to make the most of our time there.

Leveraging our booth at the trade show, we were able to connect with over 100 existing and new customers, including colleagues from Samsung and Lenovo. This round, we noticed three key points that got the audience’s attention:

1. Our technology’s ability to get you an additional 6+ years of battery life
2. Our technology’s ability to prevent mobile devices’ batteries from bloating
3. Our commitment to proudly say our products are “Designed and Manufactured in Canada”

That and, of course, our gifting of the company staple, the Charge-Check. It always wins some brownie points.

We’re always excited to show off SimulCharge products, which provide simultaneous power and data to mobile devices. However, doing it alongside other Canadian companies made us all that more proud of what we do and whom we work with. Connecting with the Business Development Bank of Canada brought on a wave of inspiration, while extending beyond the realm of North American companies and connecting with our French partners from STMicroelectronics in-person may have led to exciting new ideas. There were a few inside jokes too…something about wiring wireless devices. Keep eye out for upcoming news on our future collaborations.

A massive thanks to Arman Giloyan, as well as the Ontario Government and Government of Canada for making our presence at this incredible trade show a reality in the first place. Your support before and during the event was key to LAVA having such a productive week. We can’t wait to take what we learned from this trade show and incorporate it into our business.

MWC Barcelona was held at the Fira Barcelona Gran Via Conference Centre from February 27 to March 2.
