Tablet Staging Adapter for up to Four Devices, Featuring SimulCharge™, Ethernet and Docking Detect
$524.99 / Web Price
Designed for used in tablet and smartphone staging, the nSynC-Staging adapter allows users to charge and update up to four USB-C mobile devices* over a single Ethernet cable. It features two power modes (SimulCharge™ and OTG) and Ethernet. SimulCharge™ ensures the mobile devices can simultaneously access the adapter’s wired network connection while they are charging.
For SimulCharge™, the adapter needs a 45-watt USB-C power supply to work.** It can provide 9-volt Fast Charging to the mobile devices if they have the same capability.
How the nSynC-Staging Works
The nSynC-Staging adapter provides compatible USB-C mobile devices* with simultaneous charging and access to data (SimulCharge™). It features wired Ethernet connectivity for up to four tablets and smartphones and Docking Detect technology.
As the name suggests, the nSynC-Staging is intended to be used for mobile device staging. Often when companies purchase a large number of mobile devices for their companies, they need to have those devices set up with the proper enterprise software. Whether this is done by the company itself or a third party specializing in staging, this process can be time-consuming. The software installation and updates are usually done wirelessly and Wi-Fi can easily get bogged down if too many devices are trying to connect to it at the same time. This can be further exacerbated if the company needs the network for other business.
Wired Ethernet for 4 Devices at Once
The nSynC-Staging solves this problem. Its Ethernet port provides a reliable 10/100-capable wired network connection for up to four mobile devices through the USB-C ports. Because this connection is wired, it doesn’t put the same pressure on the network that the same four devices connecting over Wi-Fi. This means the installation will progress faster and won’t adversely affect the network as a whole.
Simultaneously Charge Devices in SimulCharge™ Mode
The adapter features a switch to toggle between different data and power modes. By default, it operates in SimulCharge™ mode, which provides simultaneous charging and access to data. This allows users staging a tablet to download the needed apps and updates through a wired Ethernet connection, without draining the battery.
OTG Mode for Greater Compatibility
For USB-C mobile devices incompatible with SimulCharge™, the adapter can be toggled into OTG mode via a button on the adapter. The adapter will also default to this mode if it using a USB charger that provides less than 45 watts of power. In OTG mode, the mobile devices run off their batteries but still have access to Ethernet through the adapter, which is still powered by the AC power source. Most USB-C mobile devices are capable of OTG, making the nSynC-Staging a truly universal adapter in this mode.
When using a 45-watt charger**, the adapter can charge up to four connected mobile devices at 9 volts, 1 amp, if they are capable of Fast Charging. Alternatively, they will be charged at 5 volts, 1.8 amps.
Reliable Device Connection
Docking Detect ensures the “greeting” protocols between the SimulCharge adapter and mobile devices are executed correctly and consistently every time they are connected. This allows the adapter to be a plug-and-play technology that ensures the mobile devices always operate in USB Host mode.
The adapter comes with a casing. The USB-C to USB-C cables to connect the adapter to the mobile devices can be purchased separately.
*The nSynC-Staging is compatible with any USB-C mobile device capable of OTG. However, SimulCharge™ mode will only work on select tablets and smartphones. Please see the list of tested devices. **The DC power supply is not included with the adapter and must be purchased separately.
